Beaches
Here in Dornoch, we are lucky to be home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Scotland.
The main beach in Dornoch is a mile-long stretch of white sand that is perfect for walks, beach combing, and on each January 1st, it is home to Dornoch’s own ‘Looney Dook’.
Backed by sand dunes that are home to a variety of wildlife, including rabbits, birds, and even the occasional seal, visitors to the beach can also enjoy a variety of water sports, including surfing, kayaking, and windsurfing.
In addition to the main beach, Dornoch is also home to several smaller beaches that are equally stunning. Embo Beach, located just a few miles north, is a secluded beach that is perfect for a romantic picnic or a quiet afternoon of sunbathing. Other nearby beaches include Loch Fleet, which is a nature reserve that is home to a variety of birds and wildlife, and Golspie Beach, which is a popular spot for windsurfing and kiteboarding.
